Tips for submitting PDF Files

  • a PDF file without the fonts embedded properly, will likely cause an improper font substitution when the plotter interprets the postscript data.     
  • PDF’s made using MAC Vectorworks require special processing, especially if transparent bitmaps or image opaqueing options are used. 
  • Color PDF’s submitted for Black & White plotting will plot with color equivalent halftone dot patterns . . . eg.  - - a solid red line will render as a dotted black line.
  • When reduced 11 x 17 PDF files are requested to be “enlarged to Full Scale” the line thicknesses will get much thicker. 
  • PDF’s submitted for Black and White Graphics or Poster Outputs will look best with halftone screening.
